Off Topic: Artificial Intelligence is Here

To say that this is anything less then ‘AI’ or downright spooky even, would be an understatement. I especially enjoyed the part where the tech tried to kick it over. This is the results of government funding (reportedly $10 million dollars) from DARPA, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. From it’s website:

“The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is the central research and development organization for the Department of Defense (DoD). It manages and directs selected basic and applied research and development projects for DoD, and pursues research and technology where risk and payoff are both very high and where success may provide dramatic advances for traditional military roles and missions.”

Boston Dynamics
is the brains behind this robot and it will be interesting to see it’s advances. Here’s a direct link to their website page on it.

Basic stats:
Climbs slopes up to 35 degrees
Walks across rubble
Carries a 340 lb load

I’m in shock

Well I’m back out on another trip and since this seems to be the only time lately that I get, I thought I’d cut a little something… Which actually turned out to be almost a half hour.

Hope you enjoy
