Video of Woman at Phoenix Airport

Well here’s a Holy Grail so to speak with regard to the recent story out of Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport and the woman who died in police custody. On September 28 Carol Anne Gotbaum was arrested and put into a holding cell until her death a short time later. While autopsy results are still inconclusive as to the root cause of her passing, here’s a remarkably clear video giving some insight into Ms. Gotbaum’s emotional state and arrest just prior to her unfortunate demise.

TSA to Monitor Radio Controlled Aircraft?

After reading this story, I’m thinking it’s actually possible now that the TSA will eventually spill out of the airports into the model airplane flying fields around the country. Just imagine being out on a Sunday morning at your favorite R/C flying field and up drives a government car. Out come the TSA uniforms, just “there to observe…”

I was wondering about this possibility, and now I’m starting to take it more seriously- They’ve already been out at train stations. With the highly advanced, digital 7-8 channel R/C systems, large scale models, and very sophisticated R/C helicopters now, what’s to stop them from going to the R/C flying fields? Totally ridiculous you say? So do I, but as is historical with the TSA- the more ridiculous the more probable.

With the recent onslaught of military UAV’s, I say it’s only a matter of time before the government starts to regulate the rapidly growing hobbyist RC technologies. I’m quite surprised it hasn’t already happened.
