New York’s Passenger Bill of Rights
Governor Eliot Spitzer of New York has signed into law a passenger bill of rights. Lawmakers took action after the recent high profile stories of passengers being stranded on airliners for hours.
The World Airline Awards
The World Airline Awards are the highest quality recognition that an airline can receive and are based on the annual World Airline Survey by Skytrax. This year’s award survey was carried out between August 2006 and June 2007. 14,836,129 passengers were interviewed.
Virgin America Takes Off
Well today was sort of a rocky launch day for discount carrier Virgin America. The first flight lifted off from JFK at 10:50, 50 minutes late due to mid-summer storms in the New York area. On top of that, President Fred Reid was late and comedian Stephen Colbert didn’t make it.
